Ultherapy

Ultherapy is the collagen-boosting answer to your skin concerns, whether your goal is to simply prevent sagging skin or if want to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Ultherapy is a non-surgical facelift alternative that achieves your desired results without the complications, cost or downtime associated with cosmetic surgery.

Starting at age 25, your body naturally begins to produce less and less collagen (the building block for skin firmness), with production significantly decreasing after menopause. The good news is that you can help your body maintain and produce collagen. Ultherapy is the only non-invasive procedure FDA-cleared to actually lift the skin while stimulating collagen production.

FAQ

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a non-invasive skin tightening and lifting treatment that can be used to reduce laxity while also working to build skin density back into the skin of the neck, brows, under the chin area, upper chest and even for concentrated areas of the body like the inside of the arms, above the knees or on the abdomen around the navel. Ultherapy’s unparalleled technology delivers focused ultrasound energy to the same foundational layer that is typically addressed during cosmetic surgery, without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. After the treatment, skin texture and tightness will continue to improve over time. Ultherapy has quickly grown to be one of the most in-demand skin tightening treatments, with more than 1.5 million Ultherapy treatments performed worldwide.

How does Ultherapy work?

As we age, collagen breaks down, resulting in the loss of skin elasticity. To stimulate collagen production, Ultherapy uses state-of-the-art micro-focused ultrasound technology to create a thermal effect, penetrating underneath wrinkles, skin and muscle. The technology allows the medical provider to see beneath the skin without the use of invasive incisions so they can precisely target your areas of concern.

Before the procedure, your medical provider cleans the treatment area(s) and applies a gel that’s used in conjunction with the ultrasound device. This device glides over the surface of your skin, delivering focused ultrasound energy to the skin’s foundational layer.

What do I need to know before my Ultherapy procedure?

There is little preparation for Ultherapy appointments. Typically, appointments take no longer than 90 minutes to complete, depending on the areas you are treating.

Is Ultherapy painful?

The procedure is relatively pain-free. During the procedure, you may experience a mild heat sensation and tingling in the areas being treated. This feeling does not last long and usually subsides quickly after the procedure.

Is there downtime after Ultherapy?

One of the advantages of this treatment is that there is absolutely no downtime! Unlike other surgical alternatives, after your procedure, you can resume your normal activities immediately, without having to follow any special post-treatment measures.

How long does it take to see the full results?

You will begin to see results quickly, typically within a few days. Results will continue to appear between two to three months following your procedure. As more collagen is produced, results will continue to improve over the following three to six months. You can expect to see the full results of Ultherapy for up to one year, but individual results may vary.

Can Ultherapy treat “turkey neck”?

Ultherapy is an effective treatment option for reducing the appearance of loose neck skin, or “turkey neck.” Ultherapy treatments are customized so it delivers the results to your top skin concerns.

How many Ultherapy treatments will I need?

Only one Ultherapy treatment is needed to see amazing results, though your practitioner may recommend a customized treatment plan depending on how your skin is aging. Because skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments can help patients keep pace with the body’s natural aging process.

How do I know if I am a candidate?

Ultherapy is an effective treatment for everyone, whether you are a surgical candidate, or just looking to prevent future sagging. Typically, women and men in their 30s and older who are experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity are candidates. To discuss your candidacy and address any questions or concerns you have, we recommend starting with a complimentary consultation with one of our Ultherapy providers. Ultherapy should be considered a valuable way to bank collagen and elastin, helping to effectively reverse your skin’s baseline for aging while optimizing the effects of all other skincare treatments you may choose.

Are there any side effects of Ultherapy?

The most common side effects are minimal and temporary, including swelling, redness, soreness and bruising around the treated skin areas.

How much does Ultherapy cost?

The cost is dependent on the area being treated and is customized to each individual. Please schedule a complimentary consultation with a medical aesthetician to talk more about your desired results and a personal treatment plan.
