Latisse Eyelash Serum

Long, full, dark eyelashes are a sign of youthfulness, but the truth is, eyelashes fall out every day whether it’s due to the natural aging process or other factors. However, if you are losing more eyelashes than you’re able to produce, you may notice a decrease in your overall appearance.

Other causes can also be at play which results in eyelash shedding, such as skin irritation from eye makeup, eyelash extensions, gene factors, stress, thyroid complications, etc. If your lashes have become sparse, thin or brittle with age, you now have a solution at your fingertips – Latisse Eyelash Serum.

Latisse for eyelashes is an FDA-approved prescription medication that’s proven to thicken and lengthen lashes in as little as 16 weeks. Clinical studies show that 78% of Latisse users experience a significant increase in overall eyelash prominence (fullness, length and darkness).

A complimentary consultation is required to receive a prescription and according to New York State Law, only a pharmacy can distribute Latisse.

Latisse FAQ

How does Latisse eyelash serum work?

Latisse is a topical treatment that you apply to the eyelash line that helps your lashes naturally grow. The active ingredient bimatoprost prolongs the antigen phase in the hair follicle. Prolonging the active growth phase causes longer, thicker and darker eyelashes to grow over time. By extending the growth phase, you also increase the number of hairs produced.

How do you apply the Latisse product?

You carefully apply Latisse once a day to the upper lash line using its specialized sterile applicator, making sure to avoid the lower lid. Only use the FDA-approved sterile applicator to apply the solution; do not use a cotton swab or cosmetic brush. Following these guidelines is crucial for maximizing Latisse’s effectiveness as well as ensuring its safety.

How long until you can see results?

By week 7, Latisse users should start noticing longer lashes. By week 14, users typically notice increased eyelash length and thickness. By 16 weeks, you can expect to see full results of the product. Once you have achieved your desired results, you can apply Latisse less frequently.

What are the benefits of eyelash serum?

Latisse is clinically proven to produce longer, thicker and darker lashes in as little as 16 weeks for people with inadequate or not enough lashes.

What should I know before a Latisse treatment?

Before applying the product, you need to remove any contact lenses. This is due to the ingredient in the Latisse solution, benzalkonium chloride, which soft contact lenses can absorb. In rare cases (less than 1%), Latisse may change your eye color and result in brown pigmentation to the iris of your eye. To maintain results, you must consistently use the product as directed.

What are the side effects?

In a small number of cases, Latisse has caused a temporary discoloration of the skin on the eyelid. This will naturally reverse itself after you stop administering the product. In less than 1% of cases, the solution has also caused an increase in brown pigmentation of the iris, which is likely permanent. If a patient stops using Latisse, the original condition of the eyelashes will return after a few weeks to a few months.

Who is an ideal candidate?

If you’re concerned with the appearance of your eyelashes, we recommend talking to an experienced medical provider about your options. Latisse medication requires a medical prescription. If you are nursing or pregnant, you cannot receive a prescription. During your Latisse consultation, your medical provider will ask about any pre-existing eye conditions you have and other eye medications you are taking.

Who is not an ideal candidate?

The active ingredient, bimatoprost, is not recommended for anyone who has ocular pressure issues. In addition, it is important to review the list of ingredients with your medical provider to ensure you are not allergic to any of the medication’s ingredients.
