Breast Augmentation
One of the most dramatic options available to a woman, breast augmentation can be done safely, with minimal discomfort and barely a week's down time. There are many surgical approaches now being used, but generally we use the crease below the breast to avoid obvious scars. We use both silastic and saline implants, but generally fine the silastic better mimics the feeling of a natural breast.

Breast Reduction
There are no happier patients than people who have suffered from too large breasts and now have the delight of fitting into standard size brassiers. This operation does require a same day hospital stay and a deep anesthetic, but the recovery is not bad. Usually all that is needed is one week off from work and two more weeks to be healed enough to go back to the gym. The operation's downside is visible scarring on the breast, but these fade nicely with time.

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Tummy tucks flatten the abdomen and remove excess stretched belly skin. Usually this excess is the result of pregnancy or significant weight loss. This is a real operation, often with overnight hospitalization, but it also yields real results. The scar is above the pubic hair region and extends toward the hip bone. I takes about two weeks to recover. Patient see a significant change in their waist, pants size and their silhouette.

Thigh Lift
This is the operation to fix the "jiggly" skin on the inner thighs. Incisions are made in the groin crease and continued all around the inside of the thigh toward the buttocks. A "lemon wedge" of tissue is removed and the skin is closed thereby tightening that jiggly skin. It takes about three weeks to get back to the gym.

Brachioplasty (Arm lift)
Another area of jiggly skin is the inner arm. Many people remember their grandmother's "bat wings" fondly and are darned if they're gonna get 'em! Sometimes triceps exercises just aren't enough and in that event there is brachioplasty. The excess skin is removed along a line from the armpit to the elbow and that scar is not visible when the arm is held at the side. It fades to almost invisible over the course of one year.

Liposuction
This is the most popular operation in plastic surgery. It is a serious operation, but it can be done safely. The first rule is to know that liposuction is not a substitute for weight loss or working out. It is best used to remove deposits of fat that are excessive in small areas. So places like the "saddle bags" or a little bulge around the belly button respond beautifully. If the skin is supple and not over stretched it can be expected to retract nicely, redraping over the new contour. If someone needs to lose fifty pounds liposuction is not a substitute. But if there's just too much fullness out over your hips, this could really help.
