Dr. Gerald D. Ginsberg, M.D., F.A.C.S, Medical Director
Dr. Gerald D. Ginsberg, Tribeca MedSpa’s Medical Director, is a highly esteemed plastic and reconstructive surgeon. In private practice since 1983 in New York City, he has served as the Director of Plastic Surgery at New York Downtown Hospital, and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has been recognized in many national publications for his medical excellence and has been named one of the “Best Doctors in New York” by New York Magazine’s annual Best Doctors Issue over ten times.
Dr. Ginsberg’s extensive background includes expertise in blepharoplasty, liposuction, facialplasty and breast surgery. As our Medical Director since 2005, Dr. Ginsberg has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to Tribeca MedSpa. As a Physician, he leads the team in continuing education and advanced procedure trainings. Dr. Ginsberg is board certified in Plastic Surgery, and received his medical degree from Northwestern University. He completed his residencies in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery and a fellowship in Hand Surgery at NYU Medical Center.
Michele Rivard, RPA-C, MS Physician Assistant, Plastic Surgery
Michele Rivard, one of Tribeca MedSpa’s Physician Assistants and Injectable Strategist, graduated Cum Laude from Long Island University’s Physician Assistant program and also holds a graduate degree in surgery from Alderson-Broaddus College in West Virginia. With over 17 years experience working as a Physician Assistant in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Michele is uniquely sympathetic to her patients needs and found her way into the aesthetics field after she herself experienced facial paralysis after an accident. She uses her extensive knowledge in facial anatomy to enhance a client’s natural beauty when administering both Botox and Dermal Fillers.
Michele has worked in the operating room as first assistant to Dr. Gerald Ginsberg along with many other top surgeons in New York. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Lasers in Medicine & Surgery and the Association of Plastic Surgery Physician Assistants.
Michele has also been involved in various research projects over the years, including FDA trials, and has expansive experience with various lasers. Renowned in New York City for her ability to tailor Botox to each individual’s preferred look, Michele has a devoted following and has been with Tribeca MedSpa for nine years.
Alix Kantowitz, MS, RDN, CDN, Director of Nutrition and Wellness
Alix Kantowitz, Tribeca MedSpa’s Director of Nutrition and Wellness, has nearly eight years of experience in nutrition and dietetics.
Her love of nutrition and healthy living began at an early age, with childhood experiences cooking and baking with her grandparents. These activities in the kitchen later developed into a broader passion for food, tradition, family, exercise and overall well-being.
After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University, Alix completed her clinically-based dietetic training at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she implemented nutrition therapy for adult and pediatric patients presenting with diverse medical conditions. Upon becoming a Registered Dietitian, Alix continued her professional studies by attending the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, a leading culinary program focused on health-supportive cooking. She most recently completed her Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Columbia University.
Over the years, Alix has worked with clients of all ages, including adults and elderly patients in a clinical environment, as well as children in more informal settings. Specifically, after working at The Sylvia Center, an organization dedicated to educating children about the relationship between food and health, Alix developed Shovels and Spoons, a garden-to-table cooking series aimed at teaching children about where their food comes from and how to prepare and consume it in the healthiest ways. Today, Alix believes in proactively addressing nutrition and health at all ages, whether you’re addressing specific gastrointestinal needs, considering weight loss options, preparing for pregnancy or simply exploring any other areas of nutrition concern.
Alix is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Greater New York Dietetic Association.
Lauren Lee, RPA-C, MS Physician Assistant, Plastic Surgery
Lauren Lee, one of Tribeca MedSpa’s Physician Assistants and rising Injectable Strategist, graduated from Stony Brook University’s prestigious graduate program for Physician Assistants. Lauren managed patients with various surgical complications and traumatic injuries before she became First Assistant to top surgeons during various reconstructive and plastic surgeries. Lauren has always had a love for medicine and beauty. Transitioning from plastic and reconstructive surgery to the world of aesthetics has allowed her to combine what she loves into her career. Lauren is very passionate about helping her patients achieve beauty though her knowledge of medicine and science. She is involved in various societies such as the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the New York Society of Physician Assistants, the American Society of Laser in Medicine & Surgery and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Lauren has taken part in many clinical research projects with world renowned vascular surgeons and medical device companies. She has co-authored several clinical research papers, one of which was published in the Journal of Endovascular Surgery.
Lauren is also very enthusiastic about Continuing Medical Education, and gives monthly talks to our staff about the science and medicine behind various skincare products and treatments. She believes that a comprehensive understanding of skincare formulations and aesthetic treatments helps each of our practitioners to provide extremely effective and safe treatments to our patients.
Camellia Zheng, Lead Medical Aesthetician
Camellia Zheng, Tribeca MedSpa’s Lead Medical Aesthetician, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and graduated from the prestigious Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics in New York City. Camellia has been in aesthetics for over 12 years and has been with Tribeca MedSpa since its conception in 2006.
Serving as the aesthetics team leader, Camellia is certified as an advanced laser specialist in Laser Hair Removal, Laser Genesis, Photo Genesis, Laser Vein Removal, Limelight, Micro-Needling, Titan and Fraxel. In addition, she is an expert in formulating Chemical Peels, and has an advanced certification from PCA. Her ability to create customized home skin care regimens allows her clients to continue and build on their treatments results.
Suen Lee, Medical Aesthetician
Suen Lee, one of Tribeca MedSpa’s Medical Aestheticians, graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her love of esthetics led her to pursue her career in skincare. Suen attained her licence from the prestigious Atelier Esthetique of Esthetics and has been with Tribeca MedSpa for the past seven years, during which she has developed her devoted clientele following.
Suen holds advanced certification in chemical peels and laser rejuvenation and continues to seek knowledge to stay relevant. Her expansive knowledge in lasers include Fraxel, Titan, Tru-Sculpt, Laser Genesis, Photo Genesis, Limelight, Vascular Therapy and Laser Hair Removal. She also customizes her treatments incorporating PCA peels, Vibraderm, Dermaplaning, Micro-Needling and stem cell products.
Suen’s commitment to her clients involves an integrative approach to skincare believing beauty is created from inside out. She places emphasis on the relationship between health, nutrition and lifestyle, partnering with her clients to identify the root cause of their skin issues. Her “big picture” approach combines customized treatment plans with individualized skincare regime to nourish and maintain healthy, radiant skin.
Victoria Lewis, Medical Aesthetician
Victoria Lewis, one of Tribeca MedSpa’s Medical Aestheticians, graduated from Dermalogica Academy, a prestigious training facility for aestheticians worldwide, where she earned her laser certification. Victoria has had extensive chemical peel training by PCA, as well as over 100 hours of post-graduate education at the International Dermal Institute. As a former Ford & Wihelmina model for over ten years, Victoria is no stranger to the demands of maintaining flawless & ageless skin. Victoria has extensive experience and vast knowledge of renowned skincare lines such as PCA, LifeLine, Obagi and SkinCeuticals.
Addicted to her trade, Victoria consistently keeps abreast of the industry, always seeking new ingredients, treatments & technology that deliver real results. Whatever one’s concern or skin type, Victoria will guide you step-by-step on the path to healthy and radiant skin.
